A Lesson in Kindness

Hello, Spring! We are three days into this season of renewal, so what better time for some fresh and inspiring new perspectives?

Apologies to you all for my being a bit AWOL, a lot of life is happening outside these blogger walls and I hope to soon be able to disclose some good news.

But first!

Today, I'm stealing some words of wisdom from beautiful women, in hopes that it spreads a lesson in kindness today for you all. No matter how thoughtful and self-aware, every one of us could always use an extra reminder to be more generously giving and considerate. Never will "being too kind" be an issue, after all!

"Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.
Be the living expression of God's kindness:
kindness in your face,
kindness in your eyes,
kindness in your smile."

-Mother Teresa

With the pressures of grandiose gestures and social media peacocking, we tend to fall into the trap of wanting to be extraordinary and do extraordinary things.
We want to be noticed, applauded, and admired.

Let's ask ourselves what we want to be noticed, applauded, and admired for.
The humbling, behind-the-scenes, genuine gestures of human kindness are what a person remembers at the end of the day. Not materialistic items, not a number of followers, or accolades.
A person remembers how you made them FEEL. That you thought of them, in your heart.

What is it that you'd like to be remembered for?

"I would like to be known as
an intelligent woman,
a courageous woman,
a loving woman,
a woman who teaches by being."

-Maya Angelou

The thoughts and lessons I spout here on this blog are primarily the ones I personally continue to work on. I love to help others with my words, but more so by living as an example of them.
Walk the walk, not just talk the talk.

Nobody is perfect, but by giving ourselves and each other the grace to evolve-
that's where the magic happens.
