Remember how I've been teasing about news I couldn't share for the past few weeks? Now I can finally share two of them! I'm so excited about these new paths that I've decided upon and the opportunities that they'll hold. I've just invited that much more work-crazy into my life, but I feel so fortunate to have the chance to explore and grow further.
For the first piece of news: I will be helping lead the inaugural training team at the newest Equinox location, Equinox Brookfield Place, when it opens on February 16th.
This is a big transition for me in many ways, as I will be very sad to leave my supportive SoHo family, but I am eagerly waiting to see what this next step holds for me. As a senior trainer, I've been teaching workshops to the new crew of trainers on the team for the past few weeks as we prepare to open the club. I love doing this because I get to not only help my own clients with their training, but also help other trainers help their clients- it's a more widespread ripple effect of creating healthier and happier lives.
It's also kind of amazing that there is an outdoor rink right outside of the building, so I can let my inner skater out if I have a break during the day. I got a chance to go down there a few weeks ago and nearly have the ice to myself (every skaters dream!) during the evening. By the way, if any of you all are in the neighborhood, please say hello!
Now for news number two: I am starting the coursework to earn my Precision Nutrition certification, which is the premier nutritional coaching education/certification in the fitness industry.
I've always been fascinated with nutrition. I gained basic knowledge with my training certifications, then I would always do more research on the matter simply because I loved it and wanted to be able to properly guide my clients with it. Now, I'll be able to be that much better for my clients, and this will also expand my toolbox in being able to share valuable information with you guys.
I haven't been posting much training-specific content on the site lately, simply because my whole training brain has been dedicated to all of this transition, but I am doing my best to get that back up to speed! This will be an interesting balancing act with time-management, but I hope I am up for the challenge.
